Section 2: Core Exercises
Exercise 1: Breathing & Voice Control
- Stand tall, inhale deeply through your nose, exhale slowly.
- Practice reading a verse or paragraph aloud, projecting your voice clearly.
- Repeat using different tones (serious, joyful, persuasive).
Exercise 2: The Mirror Drill
- Stand before a mirror. Deliver a 2-minute talk.
- Observe your gestures, posture, and facial expressions.
- Adjust to remove stiffness or distracting habits.
Exercise 3: The 1-Minute Hook
- Pick a topic. Practice opening with:
- A story
- A question
- A scripture or quote
- A shocking fact
- Time yourself: capture attention in 30–60 seconds.
Exercise 4: Eye Contact Practice
- In a small group (or with chairs arranged like an audience), practice looking at one person/chair per thought.
- Avoid scanning too fast or staring at only one side.
Exercise 5: Filler Word Elimination
- Record yourself speaking for 2 minutes.
- Count the number of um, like, you know.
- Repeat the speech consciously reducing fillers.
Section 3: Weekly Growth Plan
Week 1: Confidence Building
- Write and deliver a 2-minute self-introduction daily.
- Practice deep breathing before each attempt.
- Reflect: Did I feel more comfortable today than yesterday?
Week 2: Voice & Clarity
- Read aloud from a book or scripture for 5 minutes daily.
- Record and listen for clarity, volume, and tone.
- Practice pausing instead of using filler words.
Week 3: Body Language & Presence
- Practice hand gestures while speaking in front of a mirror.
- Record a 3-minute talk; review posture and eye contact.
