In Christ, I am strong, healthy, secure, renewed, inspired and empowered to live for God's glory and praise.
In Christ
The phrase “In Christ” is one of the most powerful truths in the New Testament. It reveals the believer’s new identity, position, inheritance, and authority through the finished work of Jesus. To be in Christ means to be united with Him by faith, sharing in His life, His righteousness, His victory, and His glory.
1. A New Creation
To be in Christ is to receive a new nature. The old life of sin and condemnation passes away, and a new life begins.
- “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
- This new creation is not a reformation of the old self but a transformation by the Spirit.
2. Justification and Righteousness
In Christ, believers are justified—declared righteous—not by works, but by faith in His blood.
- “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1)
- “…that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
- Our standing before God is secured in Christ, not in human effort.
3. Redemption and Forgiveness
In Christ we are delivered from the power of sin, Satan, and death.
- “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:14)
- Redemption brings us freedom from bondage and full forgiveness of sins.
4. Adoption and Sonship
To be in Christ is to be adopted into God’s family as sons and daughters with full inheritance rights.
- “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:26)
- “…he hath made us accepted in the beloved.” (Ephesians 1:6)
- We are no longer strangers but heirs with Christ.
5. Spiritual Blessings
All of God’s blessings are stored up in Christ and released to those who abide in Him.
- “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3)
- This includes peace, joy, healing, wisdom, and eternal life.
6. Victory and Triumph
In Christ, we are not victims but victors.
- “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ.” (2 Corinthians 2:14)
- “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” (Romans 8:37)
- His victory over sin, death, and the devil is our victory.
7. Eternal Inheritance
Being in Christ guarantees eternal life and glory with Him.
- “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
- “…and ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.” (Colossians 2:10)
- In Him, we are safe, secure, and complete.
Conclusion
To be in Christ is the greatest position anyone can attain. It is a life of grace, power, righteousness, and glory. Outside of Christ there is condemnation, but in Him there is life eternal.
- “For in him we live, and move, and have our being.” (Acts 17:28)
The believer’s daily walk must flow from this identity—living not in self, but in Christ, who is our life, our hope, our victory, and our glory.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I thank You for being my strength and my shield, my all in all. You have carried me through weakness and lifted me in times of weariness, placed my feet on the solid Rock. My life is hidden with Christ in God, and no power of darkness can overcome me. Your joy is my strength, Your word my anchor, and Your Spirit my helper. As I step into the days ahead, I rise with renewed strength like the eagle. I walk in boldness, not in fear. I stand in victory, not in defeat. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. LORD, I give You glory for what You have done, what You are doing, and what You will yet do in my life. In Jesus’ excellent, powerful and mighty name, Amen.
