AFFLICTION SHALL NOT RISE UP THE SECOND TIME
AFFLICTION SHALL NOT RISE UP THE SECOND TIME
#pastorcharlestv
On Saturday the 30th day of August 2025 I was in the congregation of God's people with my family having been invited by my co labourer in God's vineyard to minister to God's people. Few minutes before the message as the song ministers were singing, I received a rhema, a message from the Lord, with its in-depth implications and applications: "Affliction shall not rise up the second time"
SERMON OUTLINE: GOD’S FINAL JUDGMENT AND COMPLETE DELIVERANCE
Text: Nahum 1:9 – “What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.”
Introduction
Nahum prophesies to Nineveh (Assyria), a cruel and oppressive empire.
God declares His final judgment: Nineveh will be utterly destroyed.
This verse reminds us that no power can successfully oppose God, and when He delivers His people, He does it completely.
1. THE FUTILITY OF PLOTTING AGAINST GOD
“What do ye imagine against the LORD?”
No plan against God can succeed.
Scriptures:
Psalm 2:1–4 – Nations plot in vain against the Lord.
Proverbs 21:30 – “There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.”
Tower of Babel: (Genesis 11:4–9). Men plotted to reach heaven, but God scattered them.
Whatever opposes God’s will in your life will fail. Don’t fear the wicked schemes of men—fear God instead.
2. GOD’S JUDGMENT IS FINAL AND COMPLETE
“He will make an utter end.”
God does not deal halfway with His stiff and unrepentant enemies. Hands joined together the wicked cannot go unpunished.
Assyria was destroyed so completely in 612 B.C. that it vanished from history.
Malachi 4:1 – The day comes when the proud and wicked shall be stubble.
Revelation 18:8 – Babylon’s destruction will be sudden and final.
Pharaoh’s army at the Red Sea—once drowned, never rose again (Exodus 14:28).
3. GOD’S DELIVERANCE IS PERMANENT
“Affliction shall not rise up the second time.”
When God delivers, it is total. The same enemy will not rise again.
Spiritually fulfilled in Christ:
Hebrews 9:26–28 – Christ died once for all, and sin’s penalty will not rise again.
John 8:36 – “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
When Israel left Egypt, they never went back to slavery under Pharaoh.
Believe in the permanence of God’s deliverance—don’t live in fear of the same bondage.
Conclusion
Nahum 1:9 is a message of judgment to God’s enemies and hope to God’s people.
Three truths to remember:
1. Jesus was one's afflicted, that we should not be affiliated the second time.
2. Penalty for an offence once suffered for, should never be repeated the second time.
3. Our redemption price was fully and satisfactorily paid and well accepted by God.
4. No other suffering for sin is necessary, Jesus suffered for us not to suffer again.
5. Under the new covenant Your suffering because of Sin, Satan and sicknesses is not necessary because Jesus conquered them all.
6. No plot against God will succeed.
7. God’s judgment is final and complete.
8. God’s deliverance is permanent.
With this knowledge whatever affliction has hitherto troubled your life proceeds no further. It has ended, it shall not rise again. The truth has set you free
Declaration:
“Every affliction in my life have ended. It shall not rise again in Jesus’ name. Every power plotting against my destiny will fail, for the Lord has made an utter end!”
